20 December 2019 Portway Press - Letter from Mr. Chudley

Friday 20 December 2019

As we approach the end of the Autumn term, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you have given both to your child and to the school. This term has been a really successful one, with all of the children working extremely hard to ensure they keep making progress across the curriculum.

For me, the Christmas season doesn’t really start until we have had our school carol concerts and EYFS performance. These concerts and performances, showcasing the talents of our children and the staff who work with them, bring our community together to enjoy our favourite Christmas songs! The pupils also made sure we all joined in with a special sing along at the end, which sent us away well and truly in the Christmas spirit.

I think we are all just about recovering from the Christmas extravaganza, which was the Portway Winter Fair! It was also great to see so many families in attendance enjoying the festive fun and of course the real life reindeers; ‘Snowy and Magnus’ the stars of the show. A special thanks to Wendy Zadigue and the family ambassadors for organising such a terrific event!

I would like to wish the children, staff and families a safe, relaxing and enjoyable break, and look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday 6th January 2020.
