15 February 2019 - Portway Press - Newsletter

Friday 15 February 2019

Highlights this week include:

  • A timely visit from the NSPCC, who joined us for an assembly, provided useful reminders to our children about how to stay safe.  We will be building on this theme throughout the rest of the year.
  • The children participating in the after school Art Club are very much enjoying learning about the Dutch artist Piet Mondrian.  Look out for the pictures the children have produced, using his style as inspiration at school!
  • We participated in Children's Mental Health Week at school.  Children were encouraged to express their feelings and to talk to someone if they have any fears, problems or concerns.
  • As always, a big congratulations to this week's mathletes, readers and writers - look out for your names in the newsletter.

I am delighted to be able to share the success of the Family Hub activities that have been running so far this term.  A full programme is now available on the Family Hub page of the website.  Please contact our Family Support Worker, Wendy Zadigue, on for more information.

Thank you to all staff, children and parents for a very successful start to the spring half term, and I hope that you all enjoy the half term break.  We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Monday 25th February.
