14 September - Newsletter - Portway Press

Friday 14 September 2018

We look forward to sharing the news from our first full week back at school.  Please note that hard copies will, as of next week, NO LONGER BE SENT HOME as we move away from paper-based school-home communication.  On Fridays, parents will be emailed a copy of Portway Press via their ParentMail account.  Thank you for your support as we continue to ensure that our communication is helpful and efficient.

Highlights in this week's newsletter include:

  • All Our Year Group pages have now been updated with the annual curriculum overviews, the curriculum overviews for this autumn term, and the class teachers and assistants.  Please take a look.
  • We are very much looking forward to celebrating success in reading, writing and maths in our weekly assemblies, with children who have done particularly well receiving a celebratory certificate.
  • Our year 6 children very much enjoyed acting out the journey of blood around the body in our KS2 hall.
  • We look forward to welcoming as many parents as possible to our MacMillan Coffee Morning on Friday 28th September, details of which are available in the school calendar.

Finally, thank you again to our school office team, and to all parents, for ensuring that ParentMail registration continues to rise!  Should you have any queries, please pop into the office where help can be provided.  We look forward to receiving your feedback about the new system, and hope that it helps to ensure that communication is reliable, timely and helpful.
