Our aim at Portway Primary School is to provide children with learning experiences that allow them to be their very best. We want to see the children flourish, thrive and be happy, supported by strong and nurturing relationships. The work that we do at school to support these outcomes has been recognised by Ofsted, which, at their inspection in March 2019 judged our school to be Oustanding across all categories. A copy of the letter which provides a summary of the report is available as a download on this page.
As part of the Leading Learning Trust, Portway Primary School works in partnership with Selwyn Primary School, an outstanding school in Plaistow and the trust’s sponsor. The trust is led by Emma Nicholls, CEO. We are an open, outward looking school, always keen to hear from our children and our parents - both on an ad-hoc, informal basis, and in a more structured way, to ensure that all voices are heard. To this end, we conducted surveys with both these groups, as well as with staff, in May 2018. The output from this exercise is published in the document available to download on this page.
We are building on this work through our partnership with Wellbeing Award for Schools, which is described in more detail on our Health and Wellbeing page.
Our relentless focus on teaching and learning has resulted in us being able to share our very pleasing Key Stage 2 results, which are available on our Results and Inspections page. We are delighted that our children's progress scores puts us in the top 10% of schools in the Borough on this particular measure.
Although we are a small Trust, we have a wealth of school improvement expertise, and have already worked with a number of partner schools and Trusts to support school improvement.
Further information is available on the document to download; please feel free to contact our CEO directly, and she will be happy to arrange a chat. Emma Nicholls can be reached via the Selwyn switchboard, or on email@example.com.
