22 June - Portway Press - Newsletter
Welcome to this week's edition of Portway Press. It has been a busy week: highlights are provided below. In addition, are a number of events coming up; please keep up to date using the school calendar, as well as our Facebook and Twitter accounts.
We are delighted to be able to share with you that the recent Teaching and Learning Review (undertaken by external consultants) went very well, with inspectors very pleased with the progress we are making across all areas of school life as we continue to improve every aspect of our provision. My thanks to all members of staff who contributed to this process.
Alongside this was the sharing of other positive feedback about our school from parents and from children, in the form of the aggregated results from our Parent and Child Surveys which were undertaken in May. The letter sent to parents this week is attached as a document to download; the complete feedback is available as a document to download on our Welcome to our School page of the website. Our thanks to all parents who participated in this process; feedback from parents is a key part of our school improvement plans.
Another way in which we are seeking to provide for parents is through the arrangement of various workshops, seminars and events, as publicised in the new Family Hub timetable, available on the Family Hub page of the website. All workshops/seminars are FREE of charge. We are also trying to make arrangements to accomodate working parents. It would be useful if parents could contact Wendy Zadigue on email@example.com re interest in sessions for working parents so that we have a better understanding of the demand. Thank you.
We were very fortunate to be able to welcome Rock Steady (@RSMusicSchool) to school on Thursday as part of our Make Music Day. Please check our social media postings for more news on this energising and exciting day at school. Thank you to Miss Rich and her team for all the work that went into arranging the day.
We are working on the introduction of ParentMail as our new school communication system. With this, we will also be sending parents a copy of our updated Privacy Notice, in line with GDPR requirements. Whilst these notices will be circulated to all parents via the ParentMail system, a copy is also provided on this page as a document to download. Hard copies are available from the School Office, if required.
Finally, we are delighted that attendance across school was 95.6%, which is very close to our 96% target. Congratulations once again to Angel, with a fantastic 99.1%!
Thank you for your ongoing feedback and support.
