20 April - Portway Press - Newsletter

Friday 20 April 2018

Once again, the term has started with a full programme of both academic and enrichment activities!  Highlights from this week's newsletter are below:

  • The final year 3 puppetry workshop takes place on Tuesday 24th April.  The children have thoroughly enjoyed these sessions.
  • The children took part in the Inter-schools Dance Mat Competition last week, which was hard work!
  • A year 5 pupil from the Barbican class has put together an excellent news article explaining the importance of recycling in today's world.
  • We are holding another workshop as part of our Family Hub at Portway.  One Thursday 26th April, all parents are invited to attend a lunch time session entitled Made of Money, that will discuss all aspects of household finances. There is no need to book, and further details are available on the school calendar (scroll down to find the event).
  • Finally, please remember that school starts at 8:45am every day.  Children not at their desks at 8:55am will be marked as absent.  We ask that all parents support us in ensuring that learning can start promptly.

As always, should you wish to speak to me or a member of my senior leadership team, please find us in the playground at drop off or pick up, or contact the school office to make an appointment.
