15 June - Portway Press - Newsletter
It was good to see the children settle back to learning so quickly after the half term break. Highlights this week include:
- Our Year 2 cricket team's finish as runners up in a local tournament - congratulations to all players.
- The Book Fair has come to school - please see the newsletter for further details.
- At school, we work hard to abide by the 5Cs - care, consideration, commitment, coperation and courtesy. Please remember to use these outside the school gates too.
We were delighted with the feedback that we received from the team of external consultants who undertook a Teaching and Learning Review at school earlier this week. We were praised for the work that we are doing to continue our journey to excellence. Thank you to all the staff and children who spoke to the inspectors; your views were heard.
Finally, we are pleased to be able to publish the events which our Family Hub Area will run this half term. Please check the calendar for details - all events are listed. No booking is required, and the seminars/workshops are all free of charge. We are particularly fortunate to be working with Emergency Exit Arts to run a series of workshops in which parents will produce puppetry and constumes in support of the Newham Carnival on the 7th July. Please contact Wendy Zadigue on firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
Have a restful weekend.
