11 May - Portway Press - newsletter
Another busy week at Portway, highlights of which are below:
- We are absolutely delighted to see the impact that the new 'Spiderman den' is having on the reading and writing skills or our Reception children. More details are available in the newsletter.
- Please can all parents ensure that the office has their current details on file, so that school/family communications can continue to improve - thank you.
- You will see that we now have a Portway Primary School Facebook Page and a Portway Twitter account (@PortwayE13)! We plan to use these to further improve our ongoing dialogue with parents and carers. Do have a look, follow us, and let us know what you think! Please note that you don't need a Facebook or Twitter account to view these pages - just search for us online.
As a whole school, we look forward to supporting our Key Stage 2 children next week as they write their SATS exams, which they have worked very hard to prepare for. My thanks to all Portway staff who have supported their efforts so diligently.
And finally, and very importantly, as the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) implemtation date approaches on the 25th May, please look out for ongoing communications from school re this important new legislation and how it affects life at school. In addition to preparing for GDPR, we are also working with parents to prepare for our move to electronic communications via the ParentMail system, for which we need to ensure that we have hold up to date data. A copy of the letter sent out to parents this week is available on this page as a document to download. Thank you for your support as we make these changes and work to ensure compliance.
