01 February 2018 - Portway Press - Newsletter

Friday 01 February 2019

Welcome to this week's edition of Portway Press.  Highlights include:

  • Another week, another accreditation!  This week, we were delighted to be awarded the Youth Sports Trust kite mark.  This awared recognises excellence in our sports provision at school.
  • On Wednesday last week, we welcomed WE Charity to school for a talk at our morning assembly.  The charity was started over 20 years ago by a 12 year old school boy, who wanted to make a difference to the lives of children who were not as fortunate as he was.  Working with this charity, we will encourage our children to feel empowered that they can make a difference to each other, to our school, our local community, and, ultimately, to our global community.
  • We are delighed to welcome back our Family Liaison Officer, Wendy Zadigue, who has returned to Portwa after a short stint elsewhere.  Please keep an eye on the Family Hub page, as well as on our social media sites, to see what Wendy has planned for Portway parents.
  • Congratulations once again to our Readers, Mathletes and Writers of the week - their names are all in the newsletter.

Please can I remind parents and carers again of the importance of ensuring that their child/children attend school regularly.

Please can parents and carers also keep an eye on the school calendar, which is published on the website and updated weekly.
