Welcome to the final newsletter which marks the end of a hugely successful year at Portway Primary School. In this final newsletter of the year, we celebrate not only the final week of the academic year, but also the fantastic achievements at Portway this year. Our progress from a Special Measures Ofsted judgement in 2015 to an Oustanding in all categories just 4 years later attracted the attention of the Regional Schools Commissioner, and as a result, we received a visit from Damian Hinds, the Secretary of State for Education. He was impressed with both what we as a school have done, and with the way that we have worked collaboratively with Selwyn, as part of the Leading Learning Trust, to share good practice and to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children. As always, please click on ‘Read More’ for more information and to download a copy of Portway Press.
We were delighted to receive a letter from the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the School System, Lord Agnew, recognising our achievement in achieving our Outstanding grading further to our Ofsted inspection in March this year.
